Wow! I just spent last week at the beach at Kawhia with fantastic weather, walks everyday on the black sand - although I didn't really like the sea water - it was warm and too salty. I also made friends with a Jack Russel named Molly. Just yesterday we went to Taharoa beach. I'm getting used to the sea water but I'd rather just lie in the hot sand.
